Lantern Roof Conservatories
Lantern roof conservatories are a great way to transform any space, making a lighter and brighter addition to any room. This statement conservatory adds elegance and a modern twist on a regular conservatory. We want to help you create a stunning, practical living space.
A lantern conservatory is characterised by two tiers of conservatory roof, constructed on different levels. This is called the ‘wedding cake’ effect and gives a very distinctive look. The two constructed levels are divided by a row of windows, letting in light and adapting to any property style.
These roof conservatories will fill your room with light. Even on dark winter days the difference is incredible, making any room much more pleasant to be in.
Lantern roofs can be added to an already existing conservatory or onto a new extension. Our lantern roofs are made to the highest standard so you can be safe in the knowledge that your lantern roof addition is entirely weather resistant.
10-year manufacturer’s guarantee.
Classic windows tailor made to your exact specifications.

A Lantern Roof conservatory uses fewer bars to let in even more light. With an extended eaves beam, rather than a flat roof, the internal pelmet and external cornice create a stunning orangery roof style.
A decorative cornice is used outside to hide the guttering and create beautiful sight lines.
The internal insulated pelmet will enable you to enjoy better lighting and thermal performance. You can even opt for integrated spotlights and speakers to enhance your experience.

What is a lantern conservatory?
Lantern roof conservatories are a great option if you are looking to add more natural light into your home, without building a whole new conservatory. A lantern roof means that there is no commitment to get a new conservatory or large construction. A lantern roof is built into a rectangular space in your ceiling, glass panes are inserted and pitched so that they look like a smaller roof. These can be added to an existing room (if you have a flat roof) or you can add one when you upgrade your conservatory, as long as there is a solid roof to construct it on. Decorative cornicing can be used to hide the guttering and fit your personal style.
Do roof lanterns lose heat?
Although a roof lantern may lose slightly more heat than a tiled or insulated roof, at CTG we ensure that the highest quality double glazing is used to insulate your home as best as possible. However, if you want to reduce your heat loss further we can install triple glazing in your roof lantern, the perfect solution for cold climates. We guarantee that all our roof lanterns have internal insulated pelmets installed, ensuring that loss of heat is kept to a minimum. Installing roof lanterns is actually one of the most energy-efficient ways to brighten up your home.
Do roof lanterns let in more light?
A roof lantern is a great way to dramatically increase the amount of light that you are getting in your home. Even on a rainy day, a roof lantern will let much more light into your home, meaning you will not need to spend as much on your electricity bill! A roof lantern will let around three times more natural light into a room than a conventional window, depending on how large your roof lantern is. We also offer a range of glass options such as UV filters to protect you in summer or tinted glass to reduce glare.
How do you clean a roof lantern?
Although roof lanterns may look difficult to clean, there are some simple tips and tricks which make cleaning them a lot easier. The easiest way to clean a roof lantern is to use a long handle and attach a sponge to the end. This way you can use soapy water on the sponge to clear dirt or debris that has collected on the glass. Often the best time to clean roof lanterns is when the sun is shining as this helps the glass dry quickly without streaks, giving you a clear view of the sky.
Here at CTG we also offer self-cleaning glass, which could save you a lot of time and energy. If you want to find out more contact our experts to find out whether a roof lantern could be right for you.
