Edwardian/Georgian Conservatories

  • This style of conservatory is one of our most popular. The elegant, spacious design allows a generous amount of light in and can truly transform your home. Our Edwardian conservatories are square or rectangular in shape, meaning you can make the most out of whatever space you have, leading to a practical space which is great value for money.

The minimalist design of this stunning conservatory provides a symmetrical clean structure. This conservatory is a great addition to any home, as the simple understated design suits many styles and tastes.

Although similar to our Victorian conservatory, the more contemporary style of the Edwardian conservatory brings a more minimalist look. The vaulted roof adds more space and height to your room, meaning more living space to socialise and relax in!

Do you want a unique and stylish look to your house? Let the heritage style of Edwardian conservatories separate your house from the rest on your street. Edwardian conservatories also help bring light into your house, brightening up even the darkest of rooms. They are the perfect place to relax and soak up the heat of the summer.

What is an Edwardian conservatory?

Edwardian conservatories are the perfect mix of practicality and style. Sometimes known as a Georgian conservatory, the flat front and high pitched roof is great for letting the sunshine into your house from all angles. The rectangular shape is versatile to a range of spaces and allows you to get a large amount of square footage. This conservatory is perfect for any use, whether that is as a dining room, playroom or sunroom. If you want to see these conservatories in person visit our showroom and speak to the experts!

What is the difference between a Victorian and an Edwardian conservatory?

Although there are many similarities between Victorian and Edwardian conservatories, they do create different spaces and aesthetics. Both types of conservatories have pitched roofs and are decorated with ornate details; this means that whatever the age of your property they can both make for a stunning addition. The biggest difference between these conservatories is that a Victorian conservatory has a bayfront, meaning there is a more rounded look to the front of the conservatory. The Edwardian conservatory, on the other hand, is a square-fronted space.

Can I have decorative glass in my Edwardian conservatory?

At CTG, we want to help you make your dream conservatory come to life, so we want you to use whatever type of decorative glass you want. We offer a range of options to choose from, whether you want textured, coloured or leaded glass. Our brochure has a full range of options, so you can choose the right decorative glass for your taste.

Often our customers opt for textured glass if their conservatory is overlooked, as there is an added element of privacy that comes with textured glass. Whatever your design style, let us help you find the perfect look for your conservatory. Contact us for more information about decorative glass.

Are Edwardian conservatories practical?

This style of conservatory is one of the most practical you can pick. The square or rectangular shape allows you to take advantage of the maximum square footage. Edwardian conservatories are also very easy to furnish given the shape, in contrast for other styles where you often have to find furniture to fit bay shaped windows. The shape also creates an incredibly versatile space. This means you can create the perfect space for dining, working and socialising with loved ones.

The pitched roof allows debris to fall away and not collect on the roof. This means the maintenance of your Edwardian conservatory is significantly decreased as you do not have to clear the roof of debris as often as a flat roof. A high pitched roof also means that as the debris is cleared quickly, the maximum amount of light can enter your conservatory.
