Upgrade Your Conservatory

  • Do you find that your conservatory is not getting as much use as it used to? Maybe it’s time for an upgrade. Instead of being too cold or too warm in summer, turn your conservatory into a space that can be used all year round.

There are many ways to upgrade your conservatory to regulate the temperature. One of the best ways is to upgrade the glass in your conservatory to double or triple glazing to better insulate your space. Alternatively, you could add a tiled roof to keep heat in or change the windows and doors to keep draughts out.

Maybe you feel your conservatory needs a bigger upgrade. Our experts and range of high-quality materials mean we can find a practical cost-effective option for you. One way to ensure you can use your conservatory year-round is to make sure the lighting is right for you. Installing soft warm light in your conservatory will make it more usable in the evenings. Tinted films on the windows can also help reduce sunlight entering your conservatory, making the space much cooler in summer.

Our experience in building and renovating conservatories means we can help you achieve any look you want for your conservatory, whether this is a more traditional Victorian style or bespoke modern look. When upgrading your conservatory, we want to make sure the style and size are suitable for you and usable year-round. We ensure that all our materials are state of the art and made to measure so you know your conservatory will last you for years

  • Upgrade your existing conservatory with a range of modern and traditional styles and colours – newly built or using your existing foundations and walls. Consider installing new performance glass panels that are better insulated and will boost your home’s energy efficiency. You could also choose a solid tiled roof to your conservatory’s pre-existing frame. Even making small tweaks can have a big impact – like adding new bi-folding doors out to your garden.

Common Questions

What are the best ways to upgrade my conservatory?

If you have an old conservatory that you want to give some TLC, then there are a range of options available to you. Firstly, take a look around your conservatory; what is it exactly that you want to change? Check for draughts, cold spots, rattling windows or warped timber frames. Perhaps your furniture is faded and damaged from the sun’s UV rays, or the roof is dirty and stained. We can fix all these issues, and more at CTG. From UV filters on the glass to reduce glare and protect your furnishings, to super-efficient double and triple glazing, we’ll find the right solution for your conservatory.

How can I upgrade my conservatory to make it more insulated?

Reducing heat loss is one of the most common requests we get when we upgrade a conservatory. Thankfully, this means that we have a variety of different options you can choose from to make your conservatory warm in the winter and cool in the summer. If you currently have a polycarbonate roof, then we can replace it with our thermally-efficient toughened glass roof, or even a tiled roof for maximum insulative properties. If your windows are old and letting in draughts, then we can install new windows with compression seal technology that keeps the outside chills away. Contact us today for more options, and we can help insulate your conservatory in a way that works for you.

When should I upgrade my conservatory?

The 2006 conservatory boom saw nearly 210,000 conservatories installed in the UK in one year alone. Unfortunately, this means that at least 210,000 conservatories in the UK have sub-par insulation and aren’t thermally efficient enough to be a useable space in the winter. There’s no need to scrap your conservatory altogether (unless you have an extremely old aluminium conservatory) as we can easily upgrade an existing PVCu conservatory by installing double or triple glazing in the windows and doors. You’ll know if you need to upgrade your conservatory – if there are draughts and cold spots, or it’s just freezing in the winter, then contact us. It doesn’t have to be like that!

How can I upgrade my conservatory so that it matches my home?

Nobody wants a conservatory that just looks like it’s been tacked onto your home as an afterthought. With new finishes and modern advancements in the materials we use, it’s easier than ever to upgrade your conservatory to make it look like an integral part of your house.

We offer a variety of finishes on our PVCu windows and doors so that you can match them to those in your house, or we can match the tiles of a new tiled roof conservatory with the existing tiles on your roof. If you’ve chosen an orangery or a conservatory with dwarf walls, then we will do our best to make sure the brickwork is the same as that of your house as well. We know your house is important to you, so we do our best to turn your conservatory into something that you will love for years to come.
