Aluminum offers you choice and unsurpassed quality
When used in conjunction with double or triple glazing, aluminium is highly insulative, saving you money on your energy bills. A thermal break is added to the frame, preventing conductive thermal energy loss; stay warm on those cold winter days!

How long do aluminium windows last?
There are several factors that determine how long any type of window will last, including wear and tear, the degree of maintenance they receive and where they are installed. However, even with these factors in play, aluminium windows are extremely durable and have the potential to last decades with very little upkeep. With sufficient maintenance, they have been known to last 40 years before a replacement is necessary. Removing debris and dust from the frames regularly is recommended if you would like to maximise their lifespan.
What are the benefits of aluminium windows?
Aluminium is widely favoured for a number of reasons. Their slim design means more light can enter your property to give beautiful uninterrupted outside views. They don’t demand a large degree of attention, saving you time and effort; simply wipe them down and dust them off when necessary to maximise their lifespan.
A green choice, aluminium frames are 100% recyclable, though we will always recycle your old windows, no matter what the material. Here at CTG, we’re committed to doing our bit for the planet. Elegant and versatile, aluminium windows are sure to bring a touch of class to any home.
Are aluminium windows better than uPVC?
Both styles of window have their own individual benefits. UPVC are the least costly of the two and made from a robust plastic material. Thanks to modern advancements, uPVC windows can now be just as energy efficient as their aluminium counterparts and offer the same level of security. Aluminium windows’ aesthetic qualities make them a better choice for letting light into your home and allow for beautiful unobscured views, as the frames are thinner.

Are aluminium windows energy efficient?
Once upon a time, aluminium wasn’t known for being the most insulative material when it came to keeping the cold at bay. Today, however, aluminium windows are manufactured to incorporate a thermal break. Sitting between the exterior and interior frame, a non-conductive material ensures the cold is kept out of the home.
It’s worth noting that the glazing you choose has an impact on energy efficiency. Choosing double or triple glazing can make a huge difference to whether heat is preserved inside your living spaces, especially during the winter months.
Do aluminium windows rust?
Aluminium is one of the few materials used for window designs that doesn’t rust, but it’s prone to corrosion. This isn’t an issue with CTG aluminium windows, as all our frames are treated with a special anti-corrosion coating that ensures the frames look and feel like new, even after decades of use.
Do aluminium windows rust?
Unlike many other metals, aluminium does not rust; however it does corrode. This may sound drastic, but in fact when aluminium corrodes it creates aluminium oxide, the result of the metal reacting to the oxygen in the air. Rather than weakening the metal, as rust does, this aluminium oxide is harder than the original metal itself, and it creates a strong protective layer that prevents the rest of the metal from corroding.
Unlike rusting, the corrosion of aluminium doesn’t have a significant impact on the look of the window. It can have a dull or powdery grey appearance, which is similar to the colour of the metal anyway.
